How to make the perfect Caprese Salad, a summer essential.
This week we are featuring how to make the perfect Caprese Salad so you can cool down on these hot summer nights. The first, undoubtedly, most important ingredient is Buffalo Mozzarella which we suggest you buy at The Cheese Gallery…obviously. Next you’re going to need ripe large tomatoes. The other fresh ingredient that makes all the difference for a fresh Caprese Salad is Basil. At The Cheese Gallery we grow it on our back porch and it’s as easy as feeding your plant lots of sun and lots of water regularly. Next it is essential to have both gourmet olive oil and balsamic reduction. For the Caprese Salad’s we make in the shop we use Rallis pressed Olive Oil and Crema di Balsamico Classica which makes the perfect combination to balance the Buffalo Mozzarella.
Lastly now you need to assemble the salad by cutting both the tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella in ½ inch slices and layering them on the plate. Thinly chop the basil and sprinkle along the top. Drizzle both the olive oil and balsamic along the salad and lastly season with a quick ground of salt and pepper. Now you’re ready to enjoy your carefully crafted Caprese Salad to cool off on these hot summer nights.
