This year Casey Thomson, Cathy Smart and Karen Ferri set out to raise $10,000 to support the Blue Mountain Village Foundation and the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club by planning and executing the second annual Community Longtable event. The goal, as always, is to bring together local artisans in their field to provide “the most compelling and ambitious al fresco community dining experience” for 200+ guests. This year, they did just that! With 7 drink vendors, 9 appetizer vendors, 5 dinner vendors, 3 dessert vendors and 3 local artists they all came together to provide 225 guests the culinary experience of a lifetime. Not to mention, there were apple orchard tours of the property and a flower crown DIY table with over 90 crowns made in just 2 hours. What an incredible event to have in our community!!!
The event is focused on bringing together the community to celebrate the new fall season and this year had a focus on living and embracing life in Apple Country. Beautifully set in the T&K Ferri Apple Orchard located just off Grey Road 2, the event had a day of perfect weather and a gorgeous night to enjoy good company and great food. With the help of the 3 organizers, 20 volunteers and George Matamoras representing the Thornbury-Clarksburg Rotary Club, the event went off without a hitch.
